Try making this tasty Regional Botanical gin cocktail recipe at home. Hiroyasu Kayama uses local Japanese leaves and berries to create a delicious spring cocktail.- 30ml The Botanist gin
- 60ml Japanese botanical soda
- Japanese mandarin (Yamato-Tachibana), spicebush, Japanese cinnamon leaves, temple juniper berries, Japanese
- Peppermint, wormwood, camomile, maple sap.
- 5ml Fresh lime juice
- 5ml Honey
- Create Japanese botanical soda by placing Japanese mandarin, spicebush, Japanese cinnamon leaves, temple juniper berries, Japanese peppermint, chamomile, and painted maple sap into a plastic bottle carbonator.
- Pump in carbonation to create soda.
- Pour The Botanist into a bowl, add wormwood, and stir (this adds an essence of bitterness to The Botanist gin).
- Place ingredients, lime, and honey into a shaker.
- Shake and pour into glass.
- Pour on Japanese botanical soda to the drink into the glass.
- Decorate with Japanese mandarin, spicebush, Japanese cinnamon leaves, temple juniper berries, Japanese peppermint, and camomile.
- Place a lid to circulate the scent within the glass.
