What’s the ballot for?

On May 30th 2021, we will release 418 individually numbered bottles of The Botanist Islay Aged Gin. Purchase is only available through a ballot process, and individuals must be signed up to our community platform ahead of May 30th to gain a unique link.

1. Registration Process

Make sure you’ve subscribed to our community platform by Sunday 30th May 2021. Sign-up is available through https://community.bruichladdichdistillery.com/register.

Ballot entry will only be available to subscribers of the community platform. If you’ve missed the deadline to sign-up, you will not have the chance to enter the current ballot. We recommend joining for any future web exclusives.

Please ensure all emails from festival2021@communications.bruichladdich.com are allowed into your mailbox to avoid any correspondence being stuck in spam filters.

2. Ballot Entry

Ballot entry will open on Sunday 30th May 2021 at 6.30pm (BST) and close on Friday 4th of June 2021 at 12pm (BST). When the ballot opens, we will send you an email with a link to enter. On the closure of the ballot, you’ll be sent a notification to reveal whether you have won.

On the ballot entry page, select your option and enter your details carefully. We cannot change your request once you’ve made a prepayment. Addresses must be selected from the Google locator. If you cannot find your address, please enter the one nearest you and contact us on orders@thebotanst.com to amend to the correct address.

Note that your ballot entry is unique to the email you used to subscribe and is non-transferable. If you forward to another party and they enter, another link will not be issued and your token will be invalid.

3. Purchasing Process

On entry of the ballot, prepayment will be taken to guarantee the bottle(s) you hope to win. The funds will be held on your card. This will include shipping costs and relevant customs charges to your chosen address. If you entered the ballot for each of the bottles, but only win one, we will release the difference including relevant shipping automatically.

All winning entries will be notified via email and payment taken automatically from the card used for guarantee. Another email will be sent to confirm your order.

Prepayment conditions vary depending on your bank. It can take up to 7 days for your bank to release funds back to you. We will release your funds as soon as you have not been selected as a ballot winner but cannot control the timing of funds being made available to you. If you have concerns about this, please contact your bank for clarity.

4. Shipping

4a) General Shipping Info

We’ll do everything we can to send your order out promptly. Please note that we cannot ship to all countries. Enter the ballot with an address that we can ship to.

Tracking information will be accessible via your user account on thebotanst.com or on www.thebotanist.com/my-account/ for guests.

Countries we can ship alcohol to include; Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom and a select number of states within the USA.

States allowable for shipping to the USA are; Alaska, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington DC and Wyoming.

Due to recent shipping complications, we cannot ship to France, Sweden, Poland, Slovakia or Italy. We apologise for the inconvenience.

4b) New Terms Relating to Brexit – Shipping to the EU

If you’re based in the EU, there are additional costs relating to Brexit that must be added to all new orders. The total cost of your order will include:

Customs Clearance

Initial charges will be collected at the point of purchase but high value items may be subject to additional customs charges. These are payable by each individual customer on a case by case basis and cannot be paid by The Botanist.
