To celebrate our 10th birthday, we’re pleased to bring you our first ever Limited-Edition bottling. Crafted by our Head Distiller, Adam Hannett, at Bruichladdich Distillery, this small batch of Islay Dry Gin from our inaugural year has been matured in an Ex-Pauillac French red wine cask since 2011. The resulting liquid is an experimental take on The Botanist, with notes of sweet, aromatic juniper, toasted oak, ginger and spice. Curiosity, experimentation and the progressive Bruichladdich spirit have led us to this truly unique expression.

This year, Bruichladdich Distillery is hosting a virtual open day at the Fèis Ìle, Islay’s festival of music and malts.  The Botanist Islay Aged Gin is being sold as a Fèis Ìle exclusive via ballot. To be in with a chance of purchasing one of these limited edition bottles, please register below.

Taste Note


Cinnamon, russet.


Curiosity and patience have led us to this unique and beguiling place—worth the wait.


It starts on dried apricot with Candied orange and lemon peels: oaked Juniper, wood spice, ground ginger and cranberry marmalade. As the gin opens with time, boiled orange sweets, strawberry jam and floral honey notes come forward. The toasted oak hints at vanilla, caramel and spice and highlights the base botanicals of juniper, coriander and cassia.


The sweetness of the oak-aged Botanist spreads across the palate. Soft fruit, fragrant juniper and herbal, minty notes spring across the palate. Another sip brings forward brown sugar, honey, tobacco and toffee from the oak. Juniper, citrus and coriander notes are simmering under the surface, the core botanicals anchoring the spirit.


Finishes on citrus freshness, nutty toasted oak and sweet-scented juniper.
